VideoCopilot's New Content

October 2, 2007

I’ve been a bit behind in checking up on the old Andrew Kramer and his massive array of video tutorials for After Effects and the new site with more content than I can get used to in a week or two.  It came into my mind today that I hadn’t checked out the site in a while and should take a peek to see if there were any new tutorials.  And boy, was I right to do so.  There are quite a few new tutorials, including one for 3DS MAX, one for C4D, and a new three-part series on how to achieve the effect of having the camera fly into a body to see the cells in the bloodstream, similar (he says) to the effect on the show House MD.  I don’t watch the show, but I know what he means, it sounds and looks like a cool tutorial, and, though I haven’t actually seen it (them) yet, I’m doubtful that it’ll disappoint.  He’s also got the brand new beginner series of tutorials which are awesome and incredibly helpful, even if you already know a bit about AE, they bring to light the basics of all the tools he doesn’t quite explain in his more advanced tutorials.  It’s a great way to finally understand what you’re doing on a more technical level when you time-remap or color key, etc.  It’s a great tool that he’s put out there.  So, there’s those, and on his blog he links to a few other resources like the tutorial on making 3D extruded text all in AE, and his progress on the plug-in Twitch that he’s been working on for a while now.  It’ll be cool to see that in action.  So, now without any further ado, here’s Andrew Kramer and the newest of his free After Effects video tutorials.
